Camping

We took our first camping trip as a family. We decided to start out easy and only stayed one night... we were not sure how Asher would do sleeping in a tent with us. It was such a fun trip and Asher LOVED it. He was pretty fascinated by everything: the tent, the fire, the sounds, etc. I would say that he also slept the best out of all of us, from 9pm til 6am (pretty good for being in a tent). It is always good to see friends

We had friends from Durham come visit us this weekend. It was sooooooooo much fun. Kim and I were pregnant together while Ty was in school last year and this is the first time we got to meet each others kids. Their little girl is precious and such a joy to be around!! They spend a couple days and we enjoyed their company so much. I have to say that our house feels a little empty now that they are gone... we miss them :)

Mother's Day

This mother's day, I truly found an appreciation for my mom. I have learned over the past year what it really takes to me a mom... time, love, and lots of sacrifice. I am very thankful for my mom. She has given me more then I could ever put into words. I know that she has sacrificed a lot for me as I was growing up. I love you, mom... you are the greatest.
I can't think about mother's day without saying another big thank you to my mother-in-law. You have raised an amazing man (my husband) that is now an amazing father. Thank you for all you have sacrificed to love him and support him through the years. Having a son myself, I know how special your little boy is to you. Thank you! We love you and appreciate you so much.
Here is a picture from this weekend. Asher has noticed birds recently and LOVES watching them through the window. I am enjoying the fact that he likes a 'quiet and still' activity! :)

Asher is 11 months old

Here are some pictures from yesterday. He is all over the place now... crawling, pulling-up, climbing stairs, making noise, waving and smiling! I can't believe it has almost been a year since he was born. I can't imagine not knowing him... he brings so much joy to our lives.
