Bedrest

Ty and I went in for an ultrasound this morning to check on the pregnancy because I had been having pretty intense cramps the last 2 weeks. The doctor was able to tell that my cramps/contractions were being caused by something called polyhydramnios (meaning my amniotic fluid level is very high). She changed my pregnancy status to 'High Risk' and put me on bed rest. We have another appointment in a week to check how things are going at that point. So, the good news is that we get another opportunity to see the baby since we will be having another ultrasound. She is not sure why my amniotic fluid level is increasing. She did say that I am to rest, I am not to travel and that Ty and I should start to prepare ourselves for an early delivery. She said that due to this condition the baby could come at any time. Ty and I are still trying to process everything with our upcoming house closing, and the move, etc. Over the past couple hours my mind keeps coming back to questioning why the fluid is increasing. Ty and I would appreciate your prayers for the baby's health. I will continue to post updates as we find out more information. Right now, we are still just processing everything.
So, let me state the obvious about this upcoming weekend. I am so so so disappointed that I will have to miss the baby shower that my family has been planning for me in Chicago for this weekend. I have been looking forward to this shower for a long time... and I hate that I will not be able to see everyone this weekend! Thank you so much to all of you who have put time, money and your talents into planning this shower. If there was a way I could get to Chicago this weekend, I would (believe me, I talked at length about it to my doctor to see if there was anyway to make it possible).
Some good news. During the ultrasound they were able to take some more pictures! Here is one, but you can view the rest of them by clicking on the Baby Webb link on the right. They said that the baby looks great and all of the organs look fine and healthy. They were also able to confirm the fact that Ty and I are having a boy!!! Ty and I were very excited to see our baby boy today and feel blessed that he is healthy at this point. I posted 4 new pictures of his little face labeled 31 weeks (which is how far along I am today). His cheeks are filling out and I have to say that I think he is going to be a cutie... I mean, do you see that cute nose and little lips!! I know, I know, I am a little biased.
I will post more info as Ty and I find things out. Thank you so much for your love and support through this pregnancy. Our little boy is so lucky to be surrounded by so much love and prayer at such an early age. Thank you for your prayers.

Hi Amy & Ty,

Just wanted you to know that you all are in our prayers as well as in our congregations prayers. I am sad that I will not get to see you this weekend, but another time soon. Follow your doctor's orders and stay in bed, I am sure you could use the rest as well. Please let us know if we can help in any other way. Know that we love you.

p.s. Have you picked out a name yet?

Love,
Aunt Sherry & Uncle John

It was sooooo good to talk with you today. It's been long overdue. I'm sorry that you, Ty, and Baby Webb have received the news that you have. Justin and I are praying for you all. I pray that you won't have to feel such discomfort, that the amniotic fluid level decreases, that Ty is able to focus on finishing out his schooling, and that all the details and decisions that you guys are facing right now smooth themselves out seamlessly. Please, if we can be of any help, let us know. I wish I could drive over to your house tonight, bring you dinner, do some laundry, whatever needs doing. When the three of you do get back to TN, then it's a date!

Also, even though you are allowed to be biased, it's not just you that thinks Baby Webb is absolutely adorable. As soon as I saw the ultrasound picture posted on your blog, even before I read the part where you said something similar, I said to Justin, "Look at that sweet little nose and those cute little lips. He's so precious!!!" Yup, you're gonna have a cutie pie on your hands for sure. Too bad our girls will be so much older than him or we could start trying to match them up already. ; ) JK

I love you much and am on my knees for you three.
